Today we sang a new bandish in bageshree.
unique.direct.perfect.clear.
Sensual, Sexual, Smoothly flowing.
Radha talking to Krishna through every note, every matra, every word of the bandish and through every particle of her body.
The bandish runs really fast. drut-lay.full of energy.
as i sang i realised i was feeling the feeling.at least i was supposed to feel the feeling.
metaphors, contexts, spaces.a total mixmatch.i try to be one with it.i try to be one with myself.i only try.
It hits me .
I often wonder what were they like as people the Krishna and the Radha , who gave freedom to so many emotions of love, attraction, gaze, sex, touch and yes, a celebration of it all.
I often also wonder what were Adam and Eave like,as people?
Did they ever sing?what was it like, then?
na daro rang mope
tang vasan ang ang
pragat hot brijvaasi dekhat sab!
kaisi na tohe laaj aave
niharat jobanva mora
beech dagar gher let
mose chhed karat sab!
na daro rang mope...

This is interesting thought Junnujaan. Surely something to ponder on.
Of whatever we have read about people in those times, they seem to be more of human, I think. And by that I mean, they were more refined as individuals. Refined from their own experiences and wisdom.
I am pretty impressed by Krishna, specially b'coz of Bhagwat Gita, of course. A philosophy which you can use even today.
So I met an artist other day who mentioned something about krishna which made me appreciate him even more. He said,'Krishna lived his life to fullest'.
Thinking of it, very true! As a kid, total mastikhor like any other; as a youth, a flirt! Teasing and charming away the ladies; and as man, a philosopher, a wise guide to Arjun, a trigger-er to lead Mahabharat.
Interesting haa!
An individual in totality.
I think with all the media, books and other influences which reach us so easy ( and we reach them, with equal intensity!), even when we are least aware of it.... is making us mental-clones or something like that.
That is, voluntary or involuntary hindrances to being a 'individual in totality'....
Hmmm.... What say?
true.
the feminists look at classical bandish as a male expression as most of them were written by men..i will not deliberately look at it that way, though it is actually very tempting hence the easiest to conclude..haha.i value feelings more than a point of view i guess..don't know.
but i would argue with people who call Krishna a great man.i think he was just the most fearless of all...
Yeah I agree, no one is 'great' as such. It's their actions that could be great and hence he/she becomes one of the inspiring figures in our lives.
Now the abstracts from our chat on special request.
(Hey, sweets could not help but refine it but kept the crudeness ;):
Yeah… finally it all about 'self' that's what Krishna also said...
Being 'self-indulgent' as far as it is enriching oneself with knowledge and experience, is good!
Self awareness/self knowledge is the way… totally in! as it always has been...
A stronger self creates 'a stronger universal' self… we all have a mission, to make this universal self stronger. Or may be keep it same way and not let is grow any lesser.
So one should do whatever it takes to make one self content... anything & everything...
Can you translate this bandish please?
